Understanding Crew Modes

Different projects require different workflows.

Some projects need a Crew Chief to manage attendance and working hours. Others allow crew members to manage themselves directly from the mobile app.

SquidWeb Crew Modes provide the flexibility to adapt crew operations to the requirements of each project while keeping attendance tracking, working hours and sign-off workflows connected.

What is a Crew Mode?

A Crew Mode defines how attendance, working hours and sign-off processes are managed during a project.

Depending on the selected mode, responsibilities may be handled by:

  • Crew Chief
  • Crew members
  • Planners
  • Clients

Choosing the correct Crew Mode helps streamline operations and ensures the right level of control for each project.

Self-Managed

Self-Managed Crew Mode is designed for projects where crew members manage their own attendance and working hours.

Crew members:

  • Check in themselves
  • Check out themselves
  • Confirm their own working hours
  • No pre-call confirmation required
  • No PPE check required

The client can review the recorded hours and complete the digital sign-off process.

This mode is ideal for smaller projects or self-organized teams where a Crew Chief is not required.
