Process Bank Statements with Octopodi

Octopodi helps you save bank statements and prepare their transactions for accounting review, without downloading PDF attachments manually.

You can start from a Public Mailbox, the Bank Statements folder or Octopodi chat.

Supported banks

Octopodi can currently process PDF statements from:

• Revolut Business — BIC: REVOLT21
• AstroBank (formerly Hellenic Bank) — BIC: HEBACY2N

The statement’s IBAN must match a bank account in SquidWeb. That account must also have the correct BIC and currency.

Process a statement from the Public Mailbox

Open the email and choose Octopodi from the PDF attachment menu. Then select an action:

• File as bank statement saves the statement in SquidWeb.
• File as bank statement and process transactions saves the statement and prepares its transactions for review.

You’ll receive a notification when Octopodi has finished.

Use the Bank Statements folder

Add a PDF statement to the Bank Statements folder. Octopodi will save it and process its transactions automatically. This folder processes statements as they arrive; it does not have a save-only option.

Use Octopodi chat

Drop the PDF into Octopodi chat. When Octopodi asks what you’d like to do:

• Reply yes to save the statement.
• Reply yes, and process the transactions to save it and prepare its transactions for review.

You can also include file it as bank statement with the PDF to skip the follow-up question.

Review the accounting entries

Octopodi checks the statement totals before preparing accounting entries. If the figures do not reconcile, it won’t create entries from that statement.

After processing, review the entries in Accountings. Matched entries wait for approval; entries that need attention appear in Design. Check the entries and make any needed corrections before releasing them. Octopodi does not release entries automatically.
